DESIGN & SOURCING PLACEMENT
Between my second and final years of university, I successfully secured a placement at Frasers Group. This was an invaluable experience, as I was able to develop my skills across all aspects of design. Most importantly, this placement allowed me to experience commercial roles outside of design, thus inspiring my decision to transfer to International Fashion Business for my final year.

DESIGN
Working across a range of product categories, I would work through the full design process. This included the market research stage, print design, range boarding, presenting to buyers, and finally creating tech packs to then send to factories. This was vastly different to designing in a university context, and I became very proficient in commercial design.

SOURCING
After working with my colleagues in the Sourcing department, I grew a strong interest in learning more about this role. I took the initiative of creating a space for myself in this department, and became more responsible for liaising with suppliers, ensuring order times were met, negotiating prices, and placing additions or adjustments based on product performance.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Ensuring maximum product quality was my key responsibility within the product development department. I created spec sheets for factories, helped approve lab dips, and assisted in the alterations and approvals for each stage of the sampling process. This role developed my critical eye for garment details, and identifying what appeals to the consumer.
